Physiotherapy Services
Lothian Health provides a comprehensive community and hospital-based physiotherapy service and encourages self-referral for simple problems or the recurrence of a previous problem. Nursing Services
Including dressings, blood tests, blood pressure monitoring, stitch removal, first aid, immunisation, dietary advice, minor illness advice, cervical smears, sexual health, contraception and chronic disease management.
Cervical Smears
These are carried out by our Practice Nurse. You will be informed by a standardised letter from NHS Scotland when your smear is due. Please make an appointment to see a Practice Nurse or GP, making sure that you arrange your appointment when you are in mid-cycle.
Baby Weighing Clinic
No longer based at Parkgrove Medical centre. This is now available at the Drumbrae Library Hub, Tuesday from 10am-11am
The baby weighing drop-in clinic is based at Drumbrae Library Hub on a Tuesday from 10am-11am. All babies under 1-year old welcome.

Maternity Care
You do not need to see your GP if you have done a home pregnancy test. You can refer yourself directly to your midwife by calling 0131 536 2009. You will be given the date of your first appointment with your midwife and the date for your early pregnancy scan. The midwife runs a regular antenatal clinic at the surgery regularly as well a shared care service for pregnant ladies in association with the rest of the health care team and obstetric services. “Preparation for Birth and Parenthood” classes are held by the midwife and health visitors locally.
Contraception and Sexual Health
Our Practice Nurse deals with all contraception and sexual health advice. Please request an appointment with our Practice Nurse to discuss contraception and sexual health.
